Got a notice in the mail from EDF* on Monday stating that they would be turning off our power from 8:30 until 11:30 tomorrow while the do some upgrades.
"How unusual, they're actually letting us know in advance. And how polite."
I should have known I was in trouble when I saw one of their trucks at the top of the street working on the power lines this morning...
One o'clock this afternoon, I had just finished some lunch of leftover amatriciana sauce warmed in a skillet with an egg poached in the middle, (yes, I know it sounds weird, but it was delicious), when pop, the electricity in the village goes off.
How annoying.
So, I fumed for 10 minutes, then resigned myself to doing some tedious little jobs around the house that I've been avoiding for awhile, like mending the hem on a dress, working on business paperwork and and cleaning the bathroom. At four o'clock on the dot, just as I was about to start organizing our office, the power came back on. Phew! Saved from monotony!
I'm definitely getting out of the house from 8:30-11:30 tomorrow.
