Name a food product, and France probably has a festival for it. One could surely attend a different fête every Saturday and every Sunday and never exhaust the possibilities. Consider the offerings for the first two weeks of February: the
Val d'Ajol andouille sausage festival in the Vosges,
the Nyons alicoque olive festival , the Peyrehorade kiwi festival in Basque country and the
Menton lemon festival, which is actually a sort of Mardi Gras
(carnaval) celebration.
