Compared to last
spring , life has been quiet at our Paris home. But the one special person who flew across the Atlantic again for another Parisian sojourn is my
mother. When she arrived, I prepared everything simple: a simple lunch served on a simple table with African violets in the center ... but I know she likes desserts, and I made a pear tart specially for her!

I used my blue and white Asian everyday china ware: Chinese round plates, and Thai plates for the appetizer. The table cloth is a classic toile-de-Jouy
chinoiserie pattern, and the silver ware, stainless steel Ercuis.

As I looked through the window, I realized we had an unexpected guest! On the table where birds I brought from round the world mimic little winged friends, a real real big pigeon was drinking water. Since then, it comes almost everyday!
