I slacked off and didn't write anything for Wine Sediment's Great Grape Day this month. The grape variety was Sangiovese, and I admit I hardly ever drink wines made from it -- especially not here in France. But I may have to scour the shops for some, because Andrew's post about pairing Chianti with food gave me a tad bit of culinary inspiration, which I've been sadly lacking lately.
I did find a great Sangiovese photo, though, but didn't hear from the photographer about permission to use it. I don't spend a lot of time on Flickr, but Capannelle's photos of Italy are fantastic. Take a little trip with him if you don't feel like cooking today.
Speaking of Italy, I got the French translation of The Silver Spoon cookbook as a Christmas gift. Maybe I need to delve into it for some new ideas from sunny Italy, because freezing France isn't doing it for me at the moment...
