Author of the Week: Jane Pettigrew

Taking a slight break today from the usual Sunday "Book of the Week" to highlight, instead, a "Tea Author of the Week" - and that would be my friend, Jane Pettigrew.

I consider Jane to be the First Lady of Tea OF THE WORLD. If Norwood Pratt is Mr. Tea (and he is), then Jane Pettigrew is Mrs. Tea! She's a tea expert, a prolific writer of tea books and articles, a superb teacher of tea, and an all-around nice person!

I and my fellow Tea in London travelers were fortunate last March to have been students in Jane's "Tea MasterClass" in London - it was awesome. (The 2009 Tea in London tour will again include the Tea MasterClass.)

All of Jane's books should be on the tea lover's bookshelf. Here are the one's on mine: The Tea Lover's Companion, A Social History of Tea, Tea in the City: London, Tea in the City: Paris, Design for Tea: Tea Wares from the Dragon Court to Afternoon Tea, and The National Trust Book of Tea Time Recipes. Her other titles reside on my Wish List.

For more information about Jane, check out her website or her Passport to Tea blog.

What's your favorite Jane Pettigrew book???
