Butterscotch Caramel - Tealuxe

We're in a very Mr. Rogers mode over here at The Tea Pages house. My son's 3rd birthday is soon and he is very much enamored with Mr. Rogers. So, as we prepare I am surrounded by pictures of King Friday and Queen Sarah and the red trolley. I LOVE getting to make birthday cakes now. It sure is fun to be the parent!

So, back to today's tea - Tealuxe's Butterscotch Caramel. The dry leaf of this tea was a deep dark, almost black - rich. The smell reminded me of butterscotch and made me think of marigolds. I can't imagine why, but it did.

When I brewed this tea (for the CORRECT brewing time), the liquor was caramel in color with a distinct butterscotch scent. There was a sweetness to this tea, but it was not overdone. The flavors were certainly butterscotch and caramel. Not a doubt. I will say that this isn't a tea that I could drink a lot of but it was a pleasant dessert tea. One with a 1 cup max for me though.

Tea: Butterscotch Caramel
Source: Tealuxe
Type: Scented black tea
Brewing details: 1 1/2 tsp at 212 degrees for 2 minutes
Comment: The Caramel Creme Brulee is more my speed, but I could see having a cup of this now and then (likely on a cold rainy day).
