The poem illustrates a section of the book about the Song Dynasty or the Romantic Period of Chinese Tea Drinking, specifically the manufacture of jianzhan bowls with "sensuous glazes...to complement the color of the tea liquor."
A dear friend made for me the bowl pictured above and I think it complements well the muddy green color of Japanese Sencha (Kagoshima, Jing Tea).
