Greetings from a real wine-drinking country

I am now writing from the USA and having various computer issues, which means no photos for the moment. It also means wondering what to write about French Daily Cuisine as I am eating healthy doses of American cooking!

Until my sister gets broadband and I can post some of the photos I had saved up to write about over the summer, I think it will be time to deal with some of the ideas I had piled up in my "to deal with" favorites.

For example, a while back I clicked into an article stating that the USA is poised to surpass France in wine consumption! It's nice to know I'm spending the summer in a wine wonderland.

Seriously, I've written a few articles about the French wine crisis for Wine Sediments (Well Fed Network), but the above article represents a particularly cruel blow. Wine consumption keeps declining in France, and continues to increase in England and the USA -- and at this rate, the Americans could replace the French as the world's biggest wine drinkers in three years.

Be that as it may, I do always enjoy the quality of wines here in the USA, although I prefer the variety in France. Cheers!
