If you read Chez Loulou, you know that every week I spend some time researching, shopping for and tasting the fabulous cheeses of France. The research has been great fun and I've learned a lot! The tasting has been pretty good too...
So far I've tried almost seventy of approximately 350 cheeses.
For most of my research, I use these two, highly recommended books; The Cheese Primer by Steven Jenkins and French Cheese (Eyewitness Series).
I've had The Cheese Primer for about ten years. I bought it long before I developed such a great love of cheese. Some sort of prognostication maybe?
The French Cheese book was borrowed from our friends about six months ago. They finally gave me my own copy as a gift for a week of cat and axolotl sitting. (They probably thought they were never going to get it back, but I was planning on returning it!)
The Internet is obviously also a great source for French cheese information.
Fromages.com is packed full of information and a great place to order cheese.
All About French Cheeses is also helpful.
