Winter is grey and long in Aveyron, and most people I know are starting to feel a little blue. We were about to spend yet another Saturday evening "relaxing at home" when I decided to invite friends over for dinner. In our household, an impromptu dinner invitation in winter usually means
raclette, a do-it-yourself melted cheese and boiled potato meal. Most French households seem to own a
raclette machine, which are surprisingly available in the USA -- although I can only wonder if
raclette cheese is.
